Senjougahara Hitagi, voiced by Chiwa Saito, is a core character in the Monogatari series, a top-10 student at Private Naoetsu High School, 165cm tall and born on July 7. She lost her weight to only 5kg after encountering the oddity "Heavy Crab", then recovered to 50kg with the help of Araragi Koyomi and Meme Oshino, and became Araragi's girlfriend, nicknamed "Hitagi the Enchanting" by him. Once a sunny girl, she turned sharp-tongued and defensive due to family misfortunes and frauds, pretending to be a quiet top student and using stationery for self-defense. After confronting Bemki Nezumi, she cut her long hair and grew into a cheerful, gentle girl, shedding her past extremeness. She formed the "Temple Group" with Kanbaru, became best friends with Hanekawa, and finally broke free from family shadows to live a normal student life.
