Oumae Kumiko
Oumae Kumiko, voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa, is the protagonist of Sound! Euphonium and its derivatives, the euphonium player and leader of Kitauji High School's concert band in Kyoto. Born on August 21, the 16-18-year-old Leo has chestnut hair and amber eyes, loving egg dishes and hating caddisflies. She chose Kitauji for a fresh start and its sailor uniform, taking up the euphonium out of necessity in primary school and gradually falling in love with it. Initially indecisive and easily influenced, she speaks her mind bluntly and matures to hold her own stance. She shares a deep bond with Reina Kousaka, and has a twisted love story with childhood friend Shuuichi Tsukamoto. Once bullied in middle school, she overcomes the shadow, leads the band to win a national gold medal, and later returns to Kitauji as a teacher and the band's assistant advisor.
